Sailing Lessons at the Medford Boat Club
Lessons will be structured the following way:
Beginner Youth Class
Coaches will provide instruction in the classroom setting and on the lake, coaching from the club motor boats. If you as a parent are not confident that your child will be able to pass the swim test or eventually be able to sail alone, we suggest considering signing up for family lessons with your child. Children will learn the fundamentals of sailing and will be sailing N-10s and Opti (Optimist) sailboats. As with any sailing lessons, the instructors will make decisions about when to send the participants out sailing, in consideration of weather and wind conditions. Often, lessons can be held indoors due to weather concerns, but there may be days when sailing is cancelled. Any cancellations will be communicated to the House Managers and will be posted on Instagram and Facebook. Safety is our number one priority. Classes will be held: Monday-Thursday 10am-12pm OR Tuesday and Thursday evenings 5:30-7:30pm (both options are available for the 2024 season)
